First Skillshare Felting Class!

We had our first Skillshare Needle Felting class this past weekend, and I like to think that it was pretty successful!  We had 3 students, and here are some pictures from the day.  For more information on this and other classes we offer, click here.

I brought in some examples of what I like to felt:

Here are the final products:

Mickie:

Kim made a cardinal:

Kate made a bookmark for her mom:

and I worked on my felting cursive skills:

this is not a DIY post.  it’s a DIM (DID it myself!) post.
last week i got “commissioned” to create a marquee sign for my friend’s 30th bday bash that had an “Old Hollywood” theme.  i have to admit that it stressed me out a little bit that I was asked to do this only TWO days before the event and it was in the middle of the work week (I have a full-time, 9-6 job), but I was happy to take the challenge on. hahaha how many people can say they’ve made a marquee sign, after all?

not too shabby for my first light-up marquee sign, eh??  what do you think??

The sign was made with basic poster board, glitter paint, vinyl sticker letters (the black lettering), and slits/holes cut with an xacto knife to whole the globe lights.
Any thoughts or suggestions on what else I could’ve done to make it even better?

So, this amazing girl, Melissa, took our Knitting for Beginners Skillshare course just this past Saturday, and she had already gotten through her very first fingerless mitten before the weekend was up!!  I am so amazed and impressed!  Even more, I am so proud that I got to teach her how to knit in the round!!
Awesome work, Melissa!  You can find the pattern she used for this mitten here. High-res

We’re selling the gorgeous balls we made for a recent wedding!  Check out our listing on Craig’s list if you’re interested in purchasing one of them.  I have them up on Craig’s List rather than Etsy at this point because shipping them might be a pain/hassle/expensive, but if you’re not located in the Philly-area, but really want one of these we’re happy to work something out with you :)

My life is like a lemon drop. I’m suckin’ on the bitter to get to the sweet part. I know there are better days ahead.
